Oldies in Japan

American 50's decor. Mexican food. Greasers. Not what you would expect to find in the small mountain town of Tagawa (it's a 25 minute drive), but that's what we found at "Oldies."

You know me....big fan of Marilyn!

We heard through the grapevine that our Australian friend, Ben, was going to be playing in a 50's music band with a group of Japanese guys. That's the "Greasers" we were talkin' about.

So that was our first time to "Oldies." We just hung out for awhile and met a ton of new people. Miho (the waitress/chef) and the owner (we didn't catch his name) were so sweet. Miho's English is really good too. She even told us that she learns how to cook her Mexican dishes via Skype. We didn't get to sample any that time, but the following weekend, we came back with a group of our friends. It was delicious!

The owner & Miho

John, Amanda, Deji, Robert, Ira, Sarah, Brandon, Caitlyn, Juri, Tomoyo

Representin' the dirty south!
(They even had a cowboy hat & Texas license plate...it's hard to see, but it's on the wall )

As we left from our second visit...we noticed that someone had put their "Don't Mess with Texas" souvenir to good use.
(we've been handing them out quite a bit)
