Even though it’s Sunday, I had to go to work because it was graduation day. Their school year is completely different than ours back in the U.S. Graduation is the last of February and then all the students finish the year in mid-March. Some teachers even transfer to other schools at this time. Then, the new school year starts back up in April. It’s a bit confusing because they get these random breaks in the midst of that. So, it’s kind of a year-round school, but in March and August they get 2 week-long breaks (along with other breaks/holidays periodically).
We worked a full day of school for graduation, but we have Monday off (to make up for the weekend workday). I knew Brandon dreaded his day ahead since he didn’t get very far with the car last night. During the day, I periodically sent him a text message to see how things were going. First he told me that he was able to successfully siphon most of the diesel (in other words….take a long tube and drain the diesel out of the car). Then, he ended up talking to our Japanese friends, Mr. & Mrs. Sato, and they told him he just needed to get the car towed and thoroughly cleaned out. So, they kindly called the towing service, met Brandon at our car and they waited for the tow truck to arrive. The Sato’s even drove to the service station and chatted with the service technicians. Not long after that, our green monster was diesel-free and ready to face the open road again! As a side note, the towing and technician’s labor were cheap, so we lucked out big time!
