We unpacked my stuff most of the day and organized everything. Brandon showed me how to do the laundry...not too complicated. It's small, though; you can only wash a few items at once. You just wash (with a little detergent) and then hang dry. I know that will take some adjusting since I've been spoiled all my life with a dryer (and what about during the winter or when it rains? I guess you hang dry inside?!!).
Another important function was lighting the stove...kind of like camping, when you use a gas stove. Brandon also showed me our "Easy Bake Oven"...actually it's the real thing, but sadly it's that small. I'm guessing that I can bake 5 cookies at once...so really, the key with everything is to be patient and expect things to take a long time!
There is air conditioning and a fan in our bedroom...so basically, that's where we hang out! Otherwise, we would walk around drenched with sweat (again, I realize how spoiled I was back home)
Oh, and we watched the Beijing Olympics...swimming, fencing, and gymnastics all day, as well...Japanese commentators and all! I fell asleep early (probably jet-lag)...around 5 pm! Brandon ate dinner with some friends and I woke up when he got in, so I got to say goodnight.
