Trip to the Dentist

Brandon had been encouraging me to visit the dentist for about a week, since I hadn't had a visit in about a year (ewww, gross...I know!), so I decided to give it a try. Before I went, he checked out a dental clinic that is only a few minutes away from our house. He said the dentist spoke good English (even though, the dentist didn't speak one bit of English to me) and he was able to find out that a teeth cleaning would only be $25. Brandon said his only reservation was the dentist's teeth; they were yellow and crooked.

That didn't stop me from going and seeing for myself. We didn't have to make an appointment, so I just walked in and filled out some paperwork. It wasn't long before the dentist took a look and started chiseling away the plaque! Ok, that sounds gross...my teeth weren't that bad! The differences between this visit and one back home were:
1. I sat straight up while he worked on my teeth (the chair didn't recline)
2. The dentist didn't wear gloves (I just keep reminding myself of how clean they are)
3. He didn't use flouride (he just used utencils to clean and then a small drop of this gritty paste that had no flavor to it)
4. It takes TWO visits to get your teeth cleaned. One visit for the upper teeth and the second visit for the bottom teeth. Weird, huh?!
5. They didn't try to make conversation (because of the language barrier) like most dentists do when they have your mouth wide open and utencils down your throat

Overall, a good visit! See, don't my teeth LOOK cleaner because they sure feel that way!! haha!

Looks like my teeth might be worse than when I came in!

They were super nice!! (I could tell, just in their body language)
